Assembler II, Doors

About the role

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is seeking an Assembler II - Doors to join our Richmond – P2 team. This role is part of the Dover Corporation, a diversified global manufacturer with annual revenues exceeding $7 billion.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively as part of a production team to manufacture and assemble high quality Glass, Doors, Frames and Subcomponents.
• Follow work orders and SOP’s to meet daily safety, quality, productivity, and delivery targets.
• Assemble or produce component parts into sub-assemblies, assemblies, and completed units adhering to assembly traveler/standard work instructions.
• Use hand tools, electric tools, and pneumatic tools.
• Maintain acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
• Inspect parts or completed units by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to their lead person or department supervisor.
• Follow SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) where provided as well as follow instructions from lead and supervisors.
• Perform minor adjustments or setups to equipment or machines under supervision.
• Assist with production as needed.
• Perform a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1-2 years of production assembly work
• Basic reading/writing skills
• Basic PC skills
• Basic math skills
• Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals
• Good communication skills
• Understanding of 6S
• Ability to read and understand all job specifications
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit for long periods of time
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced and complex environment
• Team oriented individual who is flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing environment
