Basic Function
Assembles mechanical and electrical parts according to work instructions and assembly drawings.Significant Responsibilities
- Performs specific job responsibilities: - Assemble mechanical and electronic parts. - Recognize cosmetic and functional discrepancies on parts and assemblies. - Operate solder pot according to work instructions. - Load and operate the IDC Insertion Machine. - Clean solder pot according to safety and operating procedures. - Assemble cabinets and enclosures using hand and power tools. - Read Bills of Materials and Shop Packs to include the router and pick list. - Perform final assembly and tests on PCB based products. - Inspect assemblies for conformance to standards. - Operate Signature PCB test equipment. - Ensure each product passes testing requirements to standards. - Cut and prepare fiber cable for termination according to Shop Packs - Complete necessary operational paperwork required to maintain the traceability of product - Communicate within a team atmosphere to ensure clarity of purpose & Customer satisfaction - After training period of 30 days, works with limited supervision to provide timely and quality products - Inspect own work and products using quality standards, work instructions and prints - Accountability – takes responsibility for his/her own work. Respects confidential information and concerns shared by others. - Available to work overtime to support production goals as needed
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Must have 12 months experience in assembly.
- Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge: Ability to use small hand tools such as screwdrivers, nut driver, and Allen/Star/Crescent wrenches, microscope, hand crimpers and height gauge. Ability to use soldering iron and de-soldering tools. Ability to read and follow basic instructions. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and work instructions. Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. Pays close attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately and recognize and assist in resolving problems. Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
