Assembler I - Sheet Metal Worker

Responsibilities

• Assembles, installs and repairs sheet metal products, parts and equipment.
• Smooths burred surfaces with files and grinders.
• Lay and attach metal or wood flooring and/or covering.
• Apply primer, paint, and caulk as needed.
• Perform close up requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to understand structural drawings.
• Understanding of 6S.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic reading/writing skills.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Ability to read/understand a tape measure.
• Ability to use a paintbrush.
• Knowledge of different types of flooring.
• Knowledge and understanding of metal types and gauging.
• Ability to utilize pneumatic/hydraulic hand tools.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Three to six months related experience and/or training.

Skills

• Ability to understand structural drawings.
• Understanding of 6S.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic reading/writing skills.
• Knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Ability to read/understand a tape measure.
• Ability to use a paintbrush.
• Knowledge of different types of flooring.
