Assembler I
As an Assembler I, you play a key role in preparing products for their final journey. In our assembly crating area, you’ll build pallets and crates by cutting wood and assembling materials to ensure products are protected and ready for shipment. Using a variety of hand and pneumatic tools, you’ll follow blueprints and instructions to create strong, secure packaging that supports safe delivery to our customers. Working alongside your team, you’ll help keep materials organized and production moving efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Build pallets and standard assemblies by following blueprints and work instructions with accuracy and consistency
- Read and understand tape measurements down to 1/32” to ensure precise cuts and proper fit
- Use hand and pneumatic tools—such as nail guns, saws, screw guns, and staplers—to assemble and secure materials
- Verify blueprints, schematics, and paperwork to ensure all components are correct before and during assembly
- Support the build process by performing basic preventative maintenance on tools and equipment as needed
- Safely operate equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials and support workflow
- Follow GFS Quality Management System (QMS) standards in all aspects of your work
- Work alongside your team to keep production moving efficiently while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Commitment to working safely and following all safety guidelines
- Ability to meet quality standards and verify work using measurement tools for standard assemblies
- Ability to read and follow blueprints and work instructions
- Comfort using computer systems such as IFS, CrateTracker, and Workbench to report work and issue materials
- Ability to safely operate pneumatic and power tools

Pay
Pay Range: $17.74 – $20.67 per hour, based on your experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is eligible for an annual individual incentive based on company performance.
