Location: Boston Whaler - Edgewater, FL. Onsite role with no travel required. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

About the role

As part of the Assembly team, you will assemble, fit, and install components to construct boats and marine vessels. The role requires mechanical aptitude, precision, and the ability to follow technical instructions to ensure safe and efficient operation of finished products.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to assemble boats.
  • Assemble boat components such as hulls, decks, cabins, bulkheads, and other structural elements.
  • Ensure proper alignment and fitting of components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform quality checks throughout the assembly process to identify defects or deviations from specifications; collaborate with quality assurance to maintain high standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report concerns or incidents immediately.
  • Work closely with assemblers, technicians, engineers, and designers to coordinate tasks and support colleagues.
  • Maintain and care for assembly tools, equipment, and machinery; report malfunctions and keep the work environment clean.
  • Complete tasks within specified time frames to meet production schedules.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Troubleshoot issues during assembly and implement solutions to maintain production schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, inspections, and modifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1+ years of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow verbal or written instructions; exchange accurate information with others.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Physical dexterity to perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods; ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic reading comprehension and writing skills; ability to work from verbal/written instructions and complete routine paperwork.
  • Ability to remain focused, organized, and accurate with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with multiple priorities and people.
  • High level of energy, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proactive team player with a self-starter mindset and constant attention to improvement.
  • Good problem-solving skills and adaptability to unexpected challenges.
  • Familiarity with Materials Resources Planning (MRP) software and systems.
  • Marine experience (preferred but not required).
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.

Working Conditions

  • Shop floor environment, non-climate controlled; temperature fluctuates with outdoor conditions (e.g., air temperature, humidity, radiant heat).
  • Moderate noise levels with occasional spikes.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust, epoxy, composites, and other chemicals.
  • Required to wear safety glasses and other personal protective equipment (PPE) on the production floor.
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods; regularly bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Schedule

  • Typically works a 4-day, 10-hour per day schedule.
  • Overtime may be required based on scheduling needs.
  • Hourly premium shift differential available for night shifts.

Pay

The anticipated pay range for this position is $17.56–$26.70 per hour. Actual base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
