Assembler I

Responsibilities

• Follow company safety rules in accordance with OSHA regulations such as wearing required PPE, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs and gloves.
• Read and interpret blueprints and machine drawings to determine assembly requirements.
• Understand how to arrange parts and staging of materials.
• Review finished parts to ensure accuracy against drawings and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
• Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Safety Work Instructions (SWI’s) required for the department.
• Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Manufacturing experience is an asset.
• Ability to use basic hand tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling heavy loads and standing for long periods of time.
• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
• Wear safety shoes, goggles, hoods with protective lenses and other devices designed to prevent burns and eye injuries.
• Able to complete basic mathematics (addition and subtraction).
• Follow AGI’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies.
• Ability to handle repetitive tasks.
• Ability to lift and maneuver 55 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
