About the role

The Assembler works according to takt time on a moving line or bench, performing finish assembly processes to mass-produce commercial aircraft composite products. This is a Level I Entry/Junior level individual contributor, semi-skilled worker who operates machines, factory-related processing equipment, or vehicles.

Responsibilities

Essential functions include performing tasks as part of the job function and truly necessary or required to perform the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Follow job traveler instructions to assemble parts using small hand tools, bonding adhesives and assembly jigs.
  • Hand wraps insulation blankets, using utility knives, foam insulation, and insulation tape.
  • Perform light sanding and abrading of composite, plastic, and some metal components.
  • May perform some light riveting using rivet squeezes and pop rivet guns.

Requirements

  • Fine hand motor skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skill both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated and quick learner.
  • Basic math skills.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include understanding of process specifications and one year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.

Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None

Computer Skills: Understanding of technology with the ability to learn new platforms and systems.

Working Conditions

While performing typical duties of this job, production employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment.

  • Usually work indoors, with sites that may not be temperature-controlled.
  • Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
  • Exposure to hazardous equipment.
  • Exposure to contaminants.
  • Shared workspaces with other employees.
  • Requires handing objects of up to 50 lbs.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending.
  • Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift and overtime).

Required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) includes:

  • Ear Plugs
  • Ear Muffs
  • Full Face Shield
  • Gloves (Latex, Rubber, Chemical Resistant, General Duty)
  • Protective Apron
  • Respirator
  • Safety Glasses
  • Safety Goggles
