Assembler I (2:00pm to 10:30pm) Gas Internal
About the role
This job involves performing a variety of sub-assembly and/or assembly operations of basic complexity. It is a 2nd shift position from 2pm to 10:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
- Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
- Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
- Assist in the building of prototypes and/or other basic assembly projects outside of normal production as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
- Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of basic assembly tasks as needed
- Inspect all work and ensure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operation
- Document actions by completing production and quality forms
Requirements
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of work experience and skill development
- 0-1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Safe use of small hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and bills of material
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis, floor to waist
- Occasional lifting up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis, floor to waist
- Occasional carrying up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis, up to 25 feet
- Frequent pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis
- Frequent pushing/pulling more than 40 pounds on an occasional basis with assistance
- Continuous standing, walking, bending/stooping, squatting/kneeling, lifting
