Assembler - Glass 1st Shift
Overview
The Assembler - Glass 1st Shift will work 4:30am-3:00pm Monday-Thursday on assigned production line and follow SOP for specific job assignments. Responsibilities include verifying materials, ensuring quality, assembling parts, testing mechanisms, and maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Verify materials being used is correct by reading the bill of materials
- Ensure materials meet quality expectations
- Label units as needed
- Door assembly requires higher-level skills and attention to detail
- Assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units
- Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications
- Verifies components are placed correctly per SOP
- Repeats tasks until assigned other duties
- Cleans up work area when shift ends
Requirements
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment
- Solid verbal and written communication skills and basic math skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills & knowledge of all door components
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
- Read and understand bill of materials
- Must be able to lift up to 75+ lbs.
- Efficient with multiple manual machines and pneumatic equipment
- May involve some repetitive motions - bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers and standing for long periods of time
- Ability to organize and maintain detailed records
- Due to the open environment, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, not required
- 1-2 Years in the field or related area
- Requires an understanding of quality door construction standards and the use of proper assembly techniques
- Prior door manufacturing or wood working experience needed
