SUMMARY

Assembles generator enclosures, tanks and their subassemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reads and understands blueprints and bill of material.
  • Assembles functional parts of enclosures and tanks using hand tools, power tools (cordless drills, impact gun, etc.), levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
  • Uses forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes, ladders and other lifting apparatus to aide in the assembly process.
  • Assists in the assembly and installation of electrical and electronic components (electrical enclosures, transformers, etc.; all electrical connections are done by qualified personnel), pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment, and installation of insulation materials as required.
  • Assembles both small and large sub-assemblies according to prints or drawings.
  • Reads bill of material to package parts/kits to customer requirements.
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine assembly sequence, and setup requirements.
  • Follows work instructions from general description. Works with other team members to troubleshoot mechanical/fit issues in a satisfactory manner.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Languages skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.

  • Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
