POSITION SUMMARY
The Assembler is responsible for following work instructions and using a variety of equipment to correctly assemble, test, and package medical devices. The position works in a cleanroom environment and assists other team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assemble, test, and package medical devices and related products in accordance with documented work instructions and procedures.
- Work in a cleanroom environment; following contamination control practices to ensure product cleanliness.
- Maintain consistent quality and workmanship of the products produced.
- Work cooperatively on an assembly team to achieve production targets.
- Understand and comply with Quality Management System requirements.
- Record information accurately, neatly, and where required.
- Successfully complete all assigned training.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist other team members.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow standard safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Complete assignments in a timely fashion.
- Any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a manufacturing environment necessary, Assembly experience preferred.
- Cleanroom experience is a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Attention to detail and tasks being performed in order to identify potential changes and/or problems with the processes and products.
- Ability to produce 100% quality product all the time.
- Ability to report to work on time, including returning from breaks and lunch periods.
- Good hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Able to follow instructions.
- Able to communicate with team members in a positive manner.
- Able to work independently as well as alongside team members.
- Able to visually inspect product, unaided or using microscopes, magnifiers, or camera systems.
- Able to accurately input data and test results into electronic formats.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Capable of searching for and locating electronic documents.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to eight hours per day.
- Regularly required to work in a cleanroom environment, which requires the use of gowning, wearing various coverings, and adhering to strict cleanliness control practices.
- Required to perform cleaning and be involved in cleaning related activities.
- Required to perform or facilitate testing or other functions during non-standard shift (i.e., “off hours”).
- Frequently required to lift, carry, push, and/or pull 10-20 lbs.
- Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, and/or pull items up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to periodically bend or kneel and use color vision/depth perception.
- Ability to work under magnification (including use of microscopes), for extended periods of time.
- Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- Regularly required to talk and/or hear.
