Supervisory Responsibility

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate all manual machines to produce tooling, gages, and production components.
  • Machine precision components to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
  • Interpret prints, sketches/shop drawings, and engineering specifications; determine sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup.
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
  • Use a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong experience with conventional Machining: Milling, Turning, and Grinding.
  • Uses mathematical knowledge to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Uses various measuring instruments such as micrometers, Vernier, calipers, etc.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Show strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
  • Read and understand work instructions for the operation to be carried out.
  • Ensure that all required documentation is available and at the correct revision.
  • Read and understand all manufacturing instructions before starting an operation.
  • Use measuring equipment as defined in Operation Inspection Plans to check conformance to requirements.
  • Carry out in-process inspection to ensure components are conforming and communicate non-conforming items.
  • Complete work booking requirements in ERP system to maintain accurate Work In Progress (WIP) records.
  • Follow work handling and storage instructions to prevent component damage.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis activities when non-conformance occurs.
  • Carry out and record TPM activities in accordance with specified schedules.
  • Ensure work areas are tidy, cleaned, and maintained in accordance with 5S requirements.
  • Engage and contribute to Continuous Improvement activities to maximize efficiency.
  • Comply with all company procedures and policies.

  • Academic Achievements: E - Up to and including A level (or equivalent); High School or GED, E - Up to and including degree level (or equivalent): Professional Qualifications
  • Job-specific qualifications: 3-5 years preferably in aerospace industry
