Assembler

Join our Assembly Team to help contribute to our organization by assembling high-quality tools in a cost-effective and safe manner, meet production targets, and actively participate in improving plant practices and procedures. ITW Construction provides a variety of fastening systems and truss products for commercial, residential, and remodeling/renovation segments. With products manufactured globally, the Global Tool Unit (GTU) is part of ITW's Construction Segment, innovating and developing best-in-class Power Fastening Systems for the global construction market.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and neat work area.
• Read and understand work instructions and safety guidelines.
• Follow safety procedures, including wearing safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and other required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report unsafe conditions to management.
• Adhere to work instructions, line procedures, and timing.
• Follow parts ordering, cycle counts, and cleaning procedures as scheduled.
• Participate actively as a team member, demonstrating respect, flexibility, and effective communication.
• Incorporate constructive criticism and provide feedback to others.
• Maintain dependable attendance with minimal tardiness or occurrences.
• Manage personal matters efficiently, limiting disruptions and unnecessary breaks.
• Offer suggestions for improvements in safety, quality, line operations, efficiencies, and cost reduction.

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 years old.
• 1 year of related assembly experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions and safety guidelines.
• Familiarity with assembly and measuring tools, interpreting visual aids, and performing simple math.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with co-workers and other departments.

Work Environment

The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing area with conditions that may include:

• Use of personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection in some areas.
• Work area temperature may be affected by outside temperatures.
• Industrial lighting provided.
• Rotation between stations during the assembly process.
• Moderate noise levels.
• Occasional exposure to fumes, oils, and adhesives.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

• Frequent use of both hands for assembling, carrying boxes/bins, tools, and components.
• Ability to handle, feel, or control objects, tools, or controls.
• Variable job rotation for periods of 30 minutes up to 4 hours.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, or alternate positions as needed.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay

The hourly pay for this position is $18.90.
