Assembler
About The Role
Hood Container is seeking a skilled Assembler to join our team in our Chicago Packaging Services plant. As an Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling various components and products in a timely and efficient manner. Your attention to detail and ability to follow instructions will be crucial in ensuring the quality of our products. You will work closely with other team members to meet production goals and maintain a safe and organized work environment. Your contributions will directly impact the success of our company.
Responsibilities
- Removes defective products or materials, placing them in specified areas for handling.
- Constructs, lines, and pads cartons, crates, and containers using hand tools.
- Examines containers, products, and materials for quality control and ensures packing requirements are met.
- Sets up and operates packaging machinery to load products and materials into package-processing equipment.
- Seals containers or materials using hand tools, fasteners, nails, or glue.
- Marks and labels containers, container tags, labels, or products.
- Enters packing, order, and product information in or on required forms, records, or other documents.
- Stacks boxes on pallets.
- Loads products and materials into package-processing equipment.
Required Qualifications
- A High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Skills necessary to perform reading, writing, and mathematics to maintain the required production reports and plan balanced workloads.
- Possess the ability to lift or carry materials that weigh 10+ lbs throughout the day.
- Effectively communicate instructions and requirements.
- Demonstrate initiative and effectiveness in dealing with out-of-the-ordinary situations which may arise in the course of the job.
- Work overtime or odd shifts as necessary to meet production requirements.
- Maintain an exceptional level of attendance and punctuality.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly stand, walk, and talk or hear.
- Frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and lift with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally sit.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
