About the role
In a manufacturing team environment, assembles printed circuit boards, electronic components, subassemblies, or systems using a variety of materials, tools, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Reads and performs assigned tasks in accordance with manufacturing process instructions (MPIs), production drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions.
- Performs assigned work within defined labor standards, stated production schedules, and corporate quality goals.
- Follows proper Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures at all times and performs job in accordance with proper material handling procedures and guidelines.
- Performs job functions in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Understands established job performance metrics and how they contribute to overall corporate objectives.
- Performs complex tasks in accordance with manufacturing process instructions (MPIs), production drawings, customer-provided documentation, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions.
- Performs essential complex assembly tasks using power de-paneling and lead trimming equipment, pneumatic power tools, and automated wash equipment.
- Performs soldering of ‘plated’ through-hole (PTH) components or surface mount components (SMT) and achieves IPC A 610 Class II workmanship standards.
- Performs basic rework of PTH electronic assemblies to correct or modify according to instructions.
- Performs simple computer-related tasks such as data entry, information lookup, and email.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Component identification skills for both PTH and SMT components, including polarity.
- Familiarity with calibrated tools used for assembly, measurement, and verification (e.g., pneumatic power tools, torque drivers, calipers, pin or hole gauges).
- Soldering skills for plated through-hole tasks and basic installation or touch-up of surface mount components.
- Knowledge of rework techniques for PTH assemblies.
- Working knowledge of IPC A-610 specifications.
- Good manual dexterity, good vision, and ability to stay seated for long periods.
- Ability to read and speak English to comprehend moderately complex written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole numbers).
- Understanding of basic metric measurements and tolerances as they apply to dimensional measurements of manufacturing processes and drawings.
- Ability to apply common sense and good judgment to carry out detailed, moderately complex written or verbal instructions.
Pay
The anticipated starting pay for new hires is $22.00 per hour. Full-time employees are also eligible for benefits and performance-based bonuses.
