About the role
The Assembler II position plays a crucial role in the Company's mission to achieve profitability, ROI, inventory turnover, and accident prevention. This role involves assembling multiple types of high-quality Bush Hog products across various assembly lines, including Single Spindle, Finish Mower, Multi-Spindle, Flex-Wing, and Zero Turn Lines.
Responsibilities
- Learn and become familiar with four of the five types of assembly lines.
- Reviews and performs manual labor in different production lines as needed to satisfy work orders.
- Ensure products are assembled properly to meet Bush Hog standards.
- Work under immediate supervision and collaborate with others to complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Operate hoists, dollies, and pallet jacks to move products and parts throughout the assembly line.
- Inspect products for safety and quality control.
- Examine work orders to identify special requests or changes in assembly.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace before, during, and after assembly.
- Identify problems with manufacturing or locate assembly defects when needed.
- Ensure quality control in all built subassembly parts.
- Assemble Bush Hog mower products.
- Interpret a variety of blueprints for each product.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years' experience as an Assembler I required.
- Knowledge and ability to read assembly sales orders and build to sales order specifications.
- Basic math, writing, and reading skills.
- Must be able to operate and be certified to drive a forklift.
- Must possess good dexterity to operate necessary tools used in assembly.
- Must be able to work in different locations during different times of the day.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull 35 pounds alone and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to stand for full shift required.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting required.
- Must exercise good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to speak, hear, and see to perform duties to communicate with team members.
- Must be able to assemble on three or more lines at any given time.
