About the role
Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the assembler is responsible for the repair/service of spreader rolls in accordance with company business goals. Demonstrate interpersonal skills that are supportive of a collaborative work environment, work from verbal instructions, not afraid of heights, good mechanical aptitude.
Responsibilities
- Read diagrams, blue-prints
- Repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs
- Repeatedly push, pull, bend and squat
- Handle and use measuring devices such as measuring tapes, calipers, and micrometers
- Disassemble and clean parts using a variety of hand tools and cleaning solutions
- Operate a variety of hand tools, wrenches, wire cutter, screwdrivers, as well as using air drills, sanders and grinders
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other lifting devices
- Assemble components together based on diagrams and instructions
- Stand and be on your feet the majority of the work day
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Hands on experience with assembly, basic mechanical aptitude, and general problem solving knowledge
- Possess basic computer skills and ability to accurately complete and process paperwork
On the job training will be provided. Other combinations of experience and education that meet requirements may be substituted.
