Assembler
About the role
The Assembler plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of products for Allegion, a global leader in door and security solutions. With a focus on quality and efficiency, the Assembler works closely with teams to assemble components, sub-assemblies, and final products.
Responsibilities
- Assemble basic components using hand tools and equipment
- Perform repetitive assembly tasks with precision
- Inspect products for defects and ensure they meet quality and functionality standards
- Document issues encountered during assembly
- Track and document production metrics
- Identify and segregate defective parts for review
- Adhere to all safety protocols
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Follow step-by-step written or verbal instructions
- Be flexible by working overtime, cross-training, and adapting to new processes or technologies
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Familiarity with assembly techniques, tools, and equipment
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment effectively
- Ability to produce parts and products to meet quality standards
- Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements
- Ability to handle parts and tools with precision
- Standing duration: ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift
- Lifting requirements: ability to lift up to 10 lbs
- Physical environment: noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes
