About the role

The Assembler plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of products for Allegion, a global leader in door and security solutions. With a focus on quality and efficiency, the Assembler works closely with teams to assemble components, sub-assemblies, and final products.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble basic components using hand tools and equipment
  • Perform repetitive assembly tasks with precision
  • Inspect products for defects and ensure they meet quality and functionality standards
  • Document issues encountered during assembly
  • Track and document production metrics
  • Identify and segregate defective parts for review
  • Adhere to all safety protocols
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace
  • Follow step-by-step written or verbal instructions
  • Be flexible by working overtime, cross-training, and adapting to new processes or technologies

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Familiarity with assembly techniques, tools, and equipment
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment effectively
  • Ability to produce parts and products to meet quality standards
  • Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements
  • Ability to handle parts and tools with precision
  • Standing duration: ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift
  • Lifting requirements: ability to lift up to 10 lbs
  • Physical environment: noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes
