Assembler
About the role
The Assembler plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of products for Allegion, a global leader in door security solutions. This position involves assembling components, sub-assemblies, and final products across various manufacturing lines, adhering to strict quality standards and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Assemble basic components using hand tools and equipment.
- Perform repetitive assembly tasks with precision.
- Inspect products for defects and ensure they meet quality and functionality standards.
- Document issues encountered during assembly.
- Track and document production metrics.
- Identify and segregate defective parts for review.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform basic equipment checks.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to report issues and provide updates.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and store tools and equipment properly.
- Follow step-by-step written or verbal instructions.
- Be flexible by working overtime, cross-training, and adapting to new processes or technologies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with assembly techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment effectively.
- Ability to produce parts and products to meet quality standards.
- Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements.
- Physical Demands: Ability to handle parts and tools with precision, perform repetitive motions, stand for up to 10 hours per shift, lift up to 10 lbs, work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes.
Qualifications
