Asphalt Screed Operator

Responsibilities

• Adjusts the screed plates to ensure the material is laid smooth, with the right thickness and is adjusted for the road crown when necessary.
• Works with Foreman and Paver Operator in the setup for the job on a daily basis.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills

• Knowledge of the technologies of the grade and slope controls, vibratory control, extensions and cut-off shoes.
• Ability to communicate with all trades on a job site.
• Ability to work in a busy/changing environment on construction sites (close proximity to equipment, pedestrian traffic, adjust to changing job site access).
• Exhibit honesty and trustworthiness.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient use of computer software, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Work Environment/Physical Abilities

• The physical abilities of this position require the employee to be able to frequently sit, stand, climb, low level work, reaching, bending, and trunk movements.
• May require carrying, pushing/pulling, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
• Lifting requirements may include up to 50 pounds.

Traveling

Traveling is an essential requirement of this position to ensure implementation of Asphalt Screed Operator functions. Employee will be required at times to work nights, weekends, over 40-hour work weeks.
