Asphalt Roller Operator

About the role

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. Established in 1908, RGI is the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. The company is seeking an Asphalt Roller Operator for its Northern Middle Tennessee Division located in and around Madison, Tennessee. This is a full-time position with day shifts; some night or weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, maintain and make minor equipment repairs or report malfunctions to Supervisor/Foreman.
• Monitor asphalt temperatures and vibration usage for proper breakdown and finish rolling of asphalt.
• Observe distribution of paving material to adjust machine settings or material flow and indicate low spots for workers to add material.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
• Participate as a vital team member and contribute towards the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Foreman.

Requirements

• Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move heavy objects.
• Ability to work outdoors which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, to include nights, weekends, and overtime.
• CDL license preferred, but not required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating an asphalt roller or similar heavy equipment preferred.
• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Pay

Wages starting at $24.00/hr. Higher compensation based on experience.
