Asphalt Plant Operator- Pueblo, CO

About the role

This is a skilled position controlling production and load out of materials produced in plants. The plant operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of plant equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor. Some night work will be required.

Responsibilities

• Reads work schedules and determines sequence of operations.
• Operates plant according to production schedule using appropriate materials.
• Maintain quality of mix by monitoring material operation.
• Performs basic maintenance and service on plant as required.
• Ability to weld using an arc welder or cutting torch is preferred.
• Cleans control house and yard facility daily.
• Oversee truck scales and the loading of the trucks.
• Enter production information into computer systems.
• Other duties as assigned per supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED perferred; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Subject to drug testing, background and records checks.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory and Order processing systems; uses job specific computer system for ticketing and two way radio for communications.

Pay

$28.00 to $30.00 per hour; dependent on experience

Schedule

Some night work will be required.
