ASPHALT PLANT GROUNDSPERSON (SEASONAL)

Duties and/or Responsibilities

• Uses safe work procedures that comply with safety policies and regulations.
• Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery.
• Levels earth using pick or shovel (Aggregate or asphalt).
• May operate small powered hand tools.
• May operate small equipment including bobcat, tractor, or roller or move from one site to another.
• Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) and operate small equipment, such as bobcat, tractor, jackhammer, pickup truck and air compressor.
• Shovel excess material away from asphalt plant and conveyors as needed.
• Hooks up and un-hitches small trailer to pick-up.
• Able to operate skidsteer for cleanup of materials.
• Unloads oil trucks into proper tanks.
• Maintains and monitors oil levels of all AC tanks.
• Maintains and monitors belt tension and belt wear.
• Maintains and troubleshoots all aspects of the asphalt plant.
• Communicates effectively (verbal, listening, written) and works with people under high stress situations.
• Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others.
• Makes sure OSHA, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Equipment maintenance & operation.
• Driver’s License, preferred.
