Asphalt Paving Screed Operator

About the role

Road-Con is looking for a skilled Asphalt Paving Screed Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating the screed on an asphalt paving machine to ensure a smooth and even surface. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to work in various environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate the screed on an asphalt paving machine to achieve the desired thickness and smoothness of asphalt surfaces.
• Monitor the material flow and adjust the screed to maintain a consistent and even surface.
• Work closely with the paving crew to ensure efficient and effective paving operations.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the screed and paving machine.
• Adhere to safety protocols and ensure the safety of other employees and the public.
• Work in various environmental conditions, including hot surfaces and uneven terrain.

Requirements

• Experience operating an asphalt paving screed.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a consistent and even surface.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Flexibility to work daytime and nighttime shifts based on project demands.
• Understanding of safety protocols and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in asphalt paving or related fields.
• Knowledge of paving equipment maintenance and repair.
