Responsibilities

• Play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the paver to meet project specifications and production requirements.
• Maintain the proper depth, grade, and finished cross-section of asphalt material.
• Collaborate closely with fellow crew members, applying asphalt as instructed and taking on various tasks as needed.
• Regularly check equipment functionality and perform preventative maintenance to ensure safety and optimal operation.
• Clean the equipment and execute minor repairs while reporting larger issues to supervisors.
• Comply with local, state, and federal regulations, adhere to company safety procedures and PPE policies, and maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years asphalt paver operation experience, with an emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.
• Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment and safety standards.
• Ability to maintain, inspect, and clean equipment, and perform minor repairs when necessary.
• Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment.
• Willingness to perform manual labor as needed and directed by supervisor.
• Work well with team but work with minimum supervision.
• Deal with co-workers, inspectors, customers, and public in a respectful and professional manner.
• Reliable transportation to and from the Conover office.
• Preferred: Commercial Driver License.
