Asphalt Manager
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Safety of all personnel working within the business unit.
- Safety and environmental stewardship of sites in the business unit.
- Personnel recruitment, selection, training, coaching, and retention.
- Direct and coordinate daily activities while setting and keeping track of production goals.
- Covers daily work activities, job site organization, reading of plans, etc.
- Supervises and schedules work crews.
- Organizes site goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Orders required supplies and materials.
- Assists with general laborer duties as needed, which may include shoveling, maintenance, and other tasks as required.
- Assists with heavy equipment operation, if trained, as needed at site location.
- Maintains time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing.
- Ensures that Staker Parson Companies is the Preferred Source and an industry-leader in the area served by the business unit.
- Other duties as assigned per supervisor
Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Operations, Sales, Quality Control, Customer Service/Dispatch, and Supervisory experience preferred.
- Additional education or a college degree is a plus.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write clearly and effectively.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.
- The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, to high.
