Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of general laboring duties on a road construction project on a heavy highway crew or production crew
- Shoveling
- Raking
- Traffic control
- Moving materials
- Setting forms
- Stripping and cleaning concrete forms
- Pouring concrete
- Vibrating concrete
- Maintaining good housekeeping and safety regulations
Requirements
- Ability to repetitively lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to walk, stoop, squat, sit, kneel
- Capable of passing required physical examination
- Maintain reliable attendance, meeting company standards
- Maintain a positive attitude
Qualifications
- Prior construction experience preferred; prior experience in heavy highway construction preferred
Skills
- Knowledge of basic tools and their uses
- Basic mathematical and measurement skills (adding, subtracting, division, multiplication)
- Experience working around asphalt
- Equipment operating skills beneficial
