Asphalt Foreman

About the role

Austin Bridge & Road, one of Austin Industries’ operating companies, is seeking an experienced Asphalt Foreman for their large heavy civil project in the North Texas area. The Foreman will oversee a small dirt work crew, manage resources, and ensure projects are completed safely and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Manage a small amount of onsite fleet equipment
• Recruit hourly trade personnel
• Execute “Look Ahead” schedules
• Manage craftsmen and laborers, equipment, and materials
• Logistics planning
• Schedule construction daily and weekly
• Execute project work plans
• Manage crews productively and effectively
• Train others on the crew
• Purchase materials, tools, and supplies
• Maintain a safe working environment
• Perform quality work to meet requirements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing dirt crews on heavy civil construction projects
• A strong commitment to jobsite safety and demonstrated safe work practices
• Experience in supervising crew
• Experience using HCSS Heavy Job (tablet based)
• OSHA 10 hr, First Aid/CPR, rigging, flagging, fall protection, trench excavation, and manlift certifications
• Highly organized with an attention to detail
• Effective communicator
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and meet deadlines

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or higher
• Valid driver’s license
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Able to work on call as needed
