About the role

This scientist will work in our oligonucleotide development laboratories located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Responsibilities include oligonucleotide synthesis process development, characterization, and scale-up to support drug candidate development and production. The role involves exploring novel ideas to improve synthesis processes for consistency and productivity, as well as developing non-platform oligonucleotide synthesis processes. Designing, performing, recording, and interpreting experiments, along with writing development reports, are critical aspects of the position.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to design and conduct laboratory experiments to optimize and characterize oligonucleotide synthesis processes, emphasizing process robustness, productivity, and impurity control.
• Record experimental procedures and data accurately.
• Communicate research results effectively through written reports and team presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Scientific Discipline with 3+ years of experience OR Master’s Degree in a Scientific Discipline with 1+ years of experience.
• Experience working with LC/MS is required.
• Specialization in synthetic organic chemistry, with strong synthetic skills and a deep understanding of reactivity and reaction mechanisms.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment, with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Self-driven, independent thinker with a rigorous and thorough approach to conducting experiments, data collection, interpretation, and recommendations.
• Experience in nucleoside chemistry or oligonucleotide synthesis is preferred but not required.

Pay

$34.00 to $38.00 per hour based on education and related experience.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with overtime as needed. Candidates within a commutable distance of Cambridge, MA are encouraged to apply.
