About the Role

Plan, organize, and direct quality assurance programs and activities. Develop, implement, and coordinate QA and assessment programs to enhance resident care. Attend required facility-specific meetings and committees that support the facility QAPI program. Monitor trends and prepare quality reports for the QAPI committee.

Develop processes in conjunction with the QAPI Committee to assess systems of care, including clinical care, quality of life, and resident choice. Identify the need for education based on findings and trends. Elicit data from facility-identified systems to monitor care and services, comparing findings to established benchmarks and performance targets.

Work collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to provide education and training based on findings. Track, monitor, and investigate adverse events with identified action plans. Oversee the Facility Infection Control program, including the process of identification, reporting, surveillance, and investigation of communicable diseases and infections. Participate in correcting State and Federal survey deficiencies as appropriate.

Attend facility in-service training programs (e.g., HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, Infection Control). Maintain confidentiality and report suspected or known breaches.

Requirements

• RN or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
• 3 years of Long-Term Care experience.
• Specialized training in QAPI or QAPI Certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products.
• Maintain all continuing education (CE) requirements for certifications and remain in good standing with the State Board of Licensing.

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Prolonged use of desktop or laptop computer.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear.
• Frequent use of office equipment such as copier, scanner, fax, telephone, and calculator.
• Travel by auto or airline may be required.

Work Environment

• Tasks may involve direct or indirect exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and hazardous chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
