Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a sincere and friendly welcome
• Escorts guests to tables and introduces servers
• Delivers ACES Guest Service to every guest during each interaction
• Supports, promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs
• Ensures high-quality food and service to local and international guests to encourage repeat visits
• Maintains professional grooming and appearance and acts as a role model according to established grooming and appearance policy
• Adheres to HCCTR and all Food and Beverage policies
• Schedules dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for diners
• Communicates guests’ comments, concerns to management
• Captures and coordinates activities of dining room personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service to patrons
• Inspects dining room serving stations for neatness and cleanliness, and par of table linens and other dining room supplies for tables and serving stations
• Aids in table clears and resets
• Maintains guest information in Yelp or QSR system
• Totals receipts, at end of shift, to verify sales and clears cash register
• Completes any task assigned by dining room manager, supervisor, chef, or Maitre D'

Requirements

• Valid WV racing license
• Food Handlers permit
• TIPS certification
• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School diploma or GED, or actively enrolled in High School, or equivalent experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Qualifications

• Must qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission
• Must be able to obtain proper Food Handler Certification
• Must be certified in TIPS training upon hiring

Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in a smoke-filled environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
