ASH Africa Unveils New Identity and Ambitious Growth Strategy After a Decade of Empowering Youth, Women and SMEs
ASH Africa, formerly known as Africa Skills Hub, marks its 10th anniversary with a rebrand and an ambitious pan-African growth strategy aimed at supporting over 500,000 youth, women, and SMEs annually by 2030.
About the organisation
ASH Africa is a Ghana-based development organisation dedicated to fostering inclusive economic growth across Africa. Evolving from a skills-focused institution, it now operates with a broader mission to strengthen economic ecosystems by connecting people to opportunities through skills development, enterprise support, financial inclusion, and market access.
The organisation was founded in 2016 as the Africa Internship Academy (AIA), initially focusing on youth employability in Ghana. By 2020, it had expanded into Africa Skills Hub, broadening its scope to include SME development, digital skills training, and enterprise growth support. Today, ASH Africa operates across all 16 regions of Ghana and has implemented programmes in several African countries.
Mission and approach
ASH Africa believes sustainable development requires more than skills training alone. Its systems-driven approach integrates skills acquisition, access to finance, enterprise growth, and market participation to address barriers faced by African entrepreneurs and job seekers. The organisation aims to build interconnected systems that enable individuals and businesses to thrive within a broader economic ecosystem.
Strategic goals
ASH Africa’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan outlines an ambitious target: supporting over 500,000 youth, women, and SMEs annually by 2030. Key strategic pillars include:
- Skills development
- SME growth
- Financial inclusion
- Digital economy participation
