About the founder
Ejiro Enaohwo, the founder of Ginger, brings a unique blend of global experience and deep personal legacy to this mission. Her career spans leading international artist campaigns at Sony Music across Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America, building multimillion-dollar brand partnerships at Vox Media for companies like Samsung and Walmart, and working with the United Nations to support displaced communities.
Ejiro’s inspiration, however, comes from her lineage. Her grandmother founded the Edo Orphanage and Maternity Home in Benin City, her great-grandmother was a renowned textile dealer in Edo State, and her aunt runs a successful African retail shop in the U.S. These women didn’t inherit infrastructure—they built it. For Ejiro, creating Ginger is a continuation of this legacy: building systems that empower communities and entrepreneurs.
When she encountered the inefficiencies in Africa’s beauty supply chain, it felt like a natural alignment. Her background in distribution, global markets, commerce, human-centered storytelling, and system design equipped her to address the industry’s gaps. Ginger is her tribute to the women who came before her, creating pathways where none existed.
Vision and future
Ginger is a scalable technology platform designed to evolve with the needs of the beauty ecosystem. Its roadmap includes:
- Deeper supply chain technology
- Expanded distribution partnerships
- Financial tools for entrepreneurs
- Cross-market expansion
The goal is simple: make commerce make sense, make growth accessible, and make opportunity predictable for an entire industry ready to operate on stable ground.
Impact
Ginger was created to solve a long-standing problem that has held back Africa’s beauty industry. By restoring dignity to the entrepreneurs who sustained this sector with grit and resilience, Ginger is enabling systemic change. As the industry gains firmer footing, entrepreneurs gain room to grow, communities thrive, and opportunity becomes systemic rather than accidental. Ginger is here to make that shift permanent, honoring the women who built before and ensuring the next generation doesn’t have to build alone.
