About the role

The Aseptic Mixer I will mix a variety of non-dairy based liquid products through written batch records via Oracle and verbal instructions, ensuring quality and efficiency standards are met. This role involves responsibility for filling area efficiencies, safety, and quality while adhering to GMP and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, sets up, CIPs, swab tests, monitors, and runs the mixing area following batch records for a variety of non-dairy based products.
  • Maximizes product quality and department efficiency.
  • Assists with routine maintenance on mixing equipment, including valves, "o" rings, homogenizer packings, oil, and gaskets, and documents maintenance work orders.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves basic to moderate operating difficulties involving area equipment.
  • Starts up and shuts down all equipment related to the mixing area.
  • Understands the flow process for all mix areas and identifies critical control points.
  • Accurately prepares and completes all area paperwork as required by the FDA.
  • Works with the management team to monitor operational efficiencies, yields, scrap loss, and other key indicators to improve plant productivity.
  • Communicates with warehouse, process operators, and supervisors regarding delays or problems in the mix area.
  • Monitors the mixing operation to ensure correct ingredients through staging and mixing.
  • Receives tankers and performs quality checks to ensure standards are met.
  • Directs the transfer of batched product to storage vessels and takes samples for the quality department.
  • Relieves other production team members for breaks and absences as required.
  • Wears PPE (Personal Prote Equipment) when required.
  • Adheres to all plant safety rules and reports near misses and accidents.
  • Participates in plant safety programs and reports potential safety hazards.
  • Follows SOP’s and SSOP’s to ensure high-quality liquid-based products.
  • Complies with GMP’s, HACCP, and SQF programs.
  • Assists maintenance technicians during repairs in the work area.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area and assists with general housekeeping.
  • Ensures effective shift communication and teamwork with other operators.
  • Promotes and contributes to a strong team environment.
  • Assists in coaching and training employees as requested by management.
  • Continuously improves knowledge of the Aseptic Filling process and adheres to the Annual Alchemy Schedule.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods (12 hours) and lift a minimum of 30-50 pounds frequently, occasionally up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to go up and down stairways repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Must maintain a good attendance record.
  • Must have accurate and detailed record-keeping with legible handwriting.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex issues.
  • Understands procedures for all allergens and how to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Must adhere to all GMP’s and Safety Procedures established by management.
  • Ability to assess situations and make quick, accurate decisions.
  • Must have good personal hygiene and mechanical/troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to evaluate situations and make sound decisions.
  • Must be able to inventory raw ingredients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to set priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.

Schedule

Day (A) Shift - 6 am to 6:30 pm on a 2-2-3 pattern. Some flexibility may be needed at times.

Pay

$25.80 / hour.
