Arts and Creative Industries Employer Relations Manager

About the role
The Arts and Creative Industries Employer Relations Manager will support Binghamton students' career success by integrating employer and alumni knowledge. This position supports regional and state economic development initiatives to enhance employer connections and workforce development through skill-building programs, placement rates, and internship opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Develop new and maintain existing industry and employer relationships within the region for Binghamton University.
- Champion the use of internships as a hiring pipeline tool and provide consultation to develop strong internship and shadowing programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Build relationships with leaders and organizations in workforce and economic development related to college student hiring.
- Facilitate networking and skills training opportunities for students, focusing on retaining talent locally and regionally within the state.
- Create and facilitate an arts mentoring circle connecting students in arts programs with alumni and employers.
- Conduct in-depth industry research to stay abreast of employment and recruiting trends relevant to Binghamton University’s diverse majors and programs.
- Represent the university at recruitment events on and off-campus to foster relationships with new and existing employers.
- Occasional weekend and evening commitments.
- Travel within the region, state, and country will be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3+ years of related experience in arts, entertainment, creative industries, communications, media, sales, marketing, or recruiting.
- Attention to detail with strong customer service and follow-up skills.
- Public speaking experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in arts, entertainment, creative industry, sales, communications, human resources, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Knowledge of industry and employment trends in diverse fields.
- Connections in local, state, and/or national employment opportunities.
Pay
$65,000 - $70,000
