About the Role

CNO Financial Group is hiring an Artificial Intelligence IT Intern to work alongside experienced AI associates, assisting with professional day-to-day work within the department. This is a paid internship at competitive rates, with paid days off for Memorial Day and the 4th of July.

Responsibilities

  • Support the AI team by researching AI capabilities, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Help gather and document business needs, use cases, and requirements for AI-related initiatives.
  • Participate in meetings with business and technology teams to capture notes, requirements, and action items.
  • Assist in organizing, documenting, and validating business requirements under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Help collect user feedback on AI tools and summarize findings to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and training opportunities to build technical, business, and AI-related skills.

Requirements

  • Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Status as a rising junior or rising senior, with approximate graduation dates of December 2027–June 2029.
  • Availability to work 40 hours/week for 10–12 weeks during the summer.
  • Candidate location in the Central or Eastern US time zone is preferred, or willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior internship experience.
  • Experience balancing education and a part-time job during the school year.
  • Participation in university clubs.

Schedule

The CNO 2027 internship program will run from May 17 through August 6, 2027.

Work Environment

CNO supports a flexible work environment and encourages Associates to work where they are most productive. This position may work fully remote from any US-based location, provided they are able to work Central or Eastern Time hours. All work must be performed within the United States, and occasional travel to corporate offices may be required. Associates living within 60 miles of a corporate office (Carmel, IN or Chicago, IL) have access to work from that location as needed.
