The essential duties/responsibilities
- Teach multiple sections of Studio Art, from beginner to advanced, throughout the middle school grades (5-8).
- Ensure a safe and clean Art Studio, maintain equipment and materials, and order supplies.
- Teach a semester-long section of Studio Art elective class in the upper school.
- Be a productive member of the Fine Arts department by attending meetings, updating course curricula, seeking professional development opportunities, and supporting the goals of the department.
- Serve as an advisor to a small group of students, overseeing their academic and social growth.
- Lead or assist in extra-curricular activities such as clubs, debate team, or athletics.
- Perform other non-teaching duties as assigned by the Head of School.
Requirements
- Hold a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Art or a related field.
- Demonstrate active professional creative practice in Visual Arts and/or related fields.
- Possess a passion for teaching and a desire to foster creativity among students.
