About the Role
Sheppard Pratt School and Residential Treatment Center is a year-round therapeutic educational and residential program for middle and high school-aged youths with severe emotional and behavioral disabilities. While in our care, youth attend an on-site, full-day, special and general education school that operates a 12-month program.
Responsibilities
- Provide appropriate instruction in a small classroom setting.
- Assist behavioral and clinical teams in behavioral management of students.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on student progress.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $55,000–$106,000 maximum. Pay is determined by factors including years and level of related experience.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm (in person)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least 3 months of related teaching experience (e.g., student teaching, internships).
- Must have or be eligible for a conditional, standard professional, or advanced certification with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) at time of appointment. Candidates with a conditional certification must obtain standard professional or advanced certification within two to four years of starting, as determined by MSDE evaluation of credentials.
- Must maintain MSDE certification requirements throughout tenure in the position.
Qualifications
- Current MSDE certification in Art or special education/elementary education strongly preferred.
- Experience working with children/adolescents with autism and/or severe emotional/behavioral issues strongly preferred.
