Art Teacher

About the Role

This is a part-time, 10-month itinerant position based at East View Elementary, starting September 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Employ a variety of instructional methodologies, strategies, and resources aligned to District and NYS Learning Standards, goals, and objectives to provide appropriately differentiated instruction for each student.
• Develop and employ effective classroom and individual management strategies to maintain a child-centered learning environment conducive to safety and effective learning.
• Collaborate with staff to plan and implement congruent instructional goals, objectives, methods, and learning activities.
• Collaborate with special education staff to include and integrate students with disabilities into the general education classroom/program to the greatest appropriate degree.
• Establish and maintain open communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
• Uphold and enforce the District School Code of Conduct, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
• Support a positive school climate and participate in school-wide activities, including extra-curricular duties as assigned or requested.
• Pursue professional growth through reading, workshops, conferences, District professional development, or advanced coursework.
• Establish and maintain cooperative, positive relationships with colleagues and maintain confidentiality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by a supervisor and prepare for assigned classes with written evidence of preparation available upon request.

Pay

Starting salary from $21,750.00 for the 10-month position, commensurate with experience.
