About the role

Kilkenny and Carlow ETB is seeking a qualified teacher to fill a specific purpose maternity leave position. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and learning activities within the school.

Responsibilities

• Show evidence of key competencies such as Professional Knowledge, Professional Practice, Communication and Relationship Building, Self-awareness and Self-management Skills.
• Plan and communicate clear, challenging, appropriate and achievable expectations for students.
• Understand and apply teaching and learning philosophies and theories.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain discipline.
• Use a variety of teaching materials and technologies to engage students.
• Motivate, inspire, and celebrate student effort and success.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.
• Participate in and support extra-curricular programs/activities of the school.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must be registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland and hold the appropriate qualifications for the advertised subject(s).

Qualifications

• Applicants must meet the general and special requirements as set out by the Teaching Council of Ireland.
• Applicants must provide a current Registration Certificate or confirmation of Registration with their Application Form for a teaching position.
