Art Gallery Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a part-time Art Gallery Coordinator to support installation, deinstallation, and public access for five to six annual art exhibits.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with artists, faculty, and vendors
• Handle artwork, prepare condition reports, manage gallery documentation
• Train student workers, install artwork according to exhibit needs
• Cook up lighting and wall text, coordinate with IT for technical requirements
• Maintain the gallery budget, mailing list, communicate exhibit schedules

Requirements

• B.A. (M.A. preferred) in Art, Art History, Museum Studies, or related field
• Experience in installing art exhibits
• Excellent communication, organization, project management, interpersonal skills
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work with tools, climb ladders
