Art Gallery Attendant (Full-Time)

About the role

The Art Gallery Attendant plays a crucial role in protecting the museum's collection, staff, and visitors. This position requires vigilant monitoring, security checks, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security by patrolling galleries, checking display cases, and reporting suspicious activity.
• Assist visitors by answering questions and directing them safely around the building.
• Respond to emergencies, including medical incidents and evacuations.
• Ensure proper lighting and security during closing hours.
• Communicate effectively with the control room about various issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience and/or training preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Dependable and maintains a professional appearance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
• Prior experience using two-way radios and working with alarm systems is helpful.
• Standing for extended periods is frequent.
• Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds in emergency situations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience and/or training preferred.
