The role of Senior Motion Designer / Art Director at Triple Whale involves creating motion, animation, and video content that brings the brand and its products to life. This role is a hybrid of hands-on craft and mentorship, focusing on both creative execution and guiding the broader creative team.

What You’ll Do

• Concept and create motion, animation, and video content for product marketing videos, launch campaigns, social content, and experiential pieces
• Own the craft end-to-end, from storyboards to final polish, primarily in After Effects
• Art direct across the board, including directing shoots and productions, and bringing ideas and direction to other visual design work
• Generate creative concepts and ideation, not just waiting for briefs
• Partner cross-functionally with product marketing, brand, and product teams to ensure motion work is grounded in the product story and sales
• Evaluate and manage outside partners when needed, such as production agencies and freelancers

What You’ll Bring

• 6+ years of professional motion design / animation experience, including senior or lead-level work
• Proven art direction experience, either a formal art director title or a film/production background
• Expert-level After Effects skills; strong general command of the Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience in 3D (Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar) is a plus, but not required
• Experience in product marketing and understanding how to turn features into visually compelling narratives
• A portfolio showing range in brand storytelling, product-led narrative work, and technical chops
• Experience managing or mentoring other designers
• Comfortable being the visionary and the closer, able to pitch big ideas and ship them
• Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for shoots and productions

Pay

Base Compensation Range: $135,000 - $145,000
