About the role
The Farmer’s Dog is seeking a Director of Art and Design to lead and evolve our visual identity across all customer touchpoints. Reporting directly into the VP, Creative, you will manage a team of designers and partner closely with the Creative Director to ensure our brand shows up distinctly and cohesively everywhere it lives.
Responsibilities
- Lead art and design efforts for integrated 360 brand campaigns, social content, packaging, and installations.
- Manage a team of designers to ensure brand consistency and cohesion.
- Partner with the Creative Director on TVCs, videos, and other major advertising assets, advising on art direction and graphic elements.
- Work closely with Product Design leadership to ensure all surfaces feel of one brand.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in other departments to meet and exceed business goals.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience, including 2+ years as a Design Director within an agency or in-house team.
- A portfolio with creative, relevant work for which you were primarily responsible.
- Experience managing a team of creatives and valuing mentorship as a crucial element of the job function.
- A deep design background and comfort discussing the kerning of a headline as you critique the headline itself.
- Significant experience in designing for physical builds, developing packaging, and navigating retail environments.
- Experience working within both static and video environments, with direct motion design skills preferred but not required.
- The ability to quickly grasp and bring to life the visual identity of a brand, defining quality by the smallest details.
- Able to untangle problems, clear confusion, and push past blockers, coaching your team to do the same.
- Adaptable to different working styles, mindsets, and personalities, showing a willingness to collaborate with all.
- A true dog person, even if you don’t have one.

Pay
USD annual, with a range of $170,000—$190,000 based on location-specific market data and performance.
Schedule
In-office 4-5 days a week.
