About the role
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) seeks an Arson and Bomb Investigator. This is a 12-month limited-term position that may be extended to 24 months with the possibility of becoming permanent. The position is open for Riverside County and Sacramento County.
Responsibilities
- Investigate arson and bomb incidents
- Conduct forensic analysis and evidence collection
- Prepare reports and present findings to legal authorities
- Participate in training and professional development programs
- Respond to emergencies and hazardous situations
Requirements
- Valid California Driver's License (CDL)
- Background investigation clearance
- Risk Management Program (RMP) clearance
- Annual medical clearance for respiratory protection equipment
Qualifications
- Completion of a relevant degree program
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in law enforcement or investigative work
- Knowledge of arson and bomb investigation techniques
- Ability to work independently and under pressure

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $7,276.00 - $9,994.00 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
