About the role

The role requires a comprehensive understanding of diagnostic radiology, fluoroscopy, trauma radiology, portable radiology, and surgery. Specific expertise and skills are needed to maintain a safe radiological environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides imaging services and transportation to patients of all ages, including neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
• Communicates thoroughly with patients and families, using I CARE principles for proper patient identification, exam accuracy, and enhanced communication.
• Upholds all safety standards and follows protocols, practices, and guidelines for assigned areas of expertise.
• Ensures compliance with JCAHO standards and utilizes AIDET principles for improved patient care.
• Collaborates with other departments, modalities, and personnel to deliver high-quality care.
• Manages supplies, equipment, and resources efficiently to support the financial health of the DCH Health System.
• Understands clinical histories, supply charges, and billing practices.
• Administers contrast/medications and participates in quality control.
• Ensures proper care, cleaning, and maintenance of imaging, transport, and office supplies, equipment, and software.
• Instructs and supervises student technologists and new employees as assigned.
• Facilitates and coordinates services across different areas and shifts, ensuring smooth operations and communication.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
• Identifies and mitigates potential risks and hazards to ensure patient, visitor, and employee safety.
• Performs essential job functions proficiently with minimal supervision.
• Maintains high standards of performance, patient care, and financial accountability.
• Adheres to DCH Behavioral Standards and complies with all policies and procedures.
• Uses imaging equipment, office equipment, and related materials effectively for patient care.
• Communicates professionally via email, time and attendance software, learning management systems, and intranet.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRCERT-approved school of radiologic technology.
• Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography or registry eligibility within one year of graduation.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and physics relevant to patient care.
• Proficiency in specified areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
