What You'll Do

  • Provide customer service to visitors, riders, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transit location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, unattended items, and/or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support crowd management, public interaction, and incident response during peak travel periods, service disruptions, and/or special events while following post orders and applicable use-of-force guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

About the Role

Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer at a government transit location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support riders, visitors, and staff with outstanding customer service and communication.

Qualifications

At least 1 year of security-related experience is required. An armed guard card/license is required. A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Customer service experience is preferred. CPR certification is preferred. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
