Armed Security Officer - Transit
About the role
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government transit location, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at transit facilities and surrounding property.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate transit personnel, emergency services, and/or law enforcement as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit stations, platforms, parking areas, administrative buildings, vehicle access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.
- Maintain required firearm qualifications and follow applicable laws, regulations, Allied Universal policies, and site-specific procedures regarding the carrying and use of assigned equipment.
Requirements
- Have 3+ years of experience as a Military Police Officer, Corrections Officer, Armed Security Professional, or be a certified Law Enforcement Graduate.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
- Possess a DD214 with Honorable Discharge, an Associate's Degree, 60 college credits, a Police Academy Certificate, or a Corrections Academy Certificate.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Minimum age requirement for armed roles.
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
