Armed Security Officer - Rotating

About the role

UAB St. Vincent’s St. Clair offers security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
• Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
• Maintain knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.
• May facilitate planned drills and simulations.
• Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• Operate in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• In state (Alabama) concealed carry weapons permit required.
• Drivers License credentialed from the Alabama Department of Motor Vehicles required.
• Security Professional preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Skills

• Proactive monitoring of security threats.
• Documentation and management of security incidents.
• Knowledge of alarm and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.
• Facilitation of drills and simulations.
• Information and assistance to staff and visitors.

Schedule: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM (Monday-Tuesday), 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Wednesday) 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM (Saturday - Sunday) (Off Days Thursday - Friday)
