Armed Security Officer - Part Time

About the role

Allied Universal® is seeking a Part‑Time Armed Vehicle Driver to serve and safeguard a government corrections location in Windsor, NC. The position involves conducting routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintaining a visible presence, responding to security‑related concerns, and providing professional service and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and individuals by carrying out site‑specific procedures and security‑related protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, and access points to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor activity, incidents, and daily patrol observations in required reports.
• Maintain proficiency with assigned equipment and comply with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and site‑specific post orders.

Minimum Requirements

• At least six months of armed security‑related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Armed guard card or license (preferred).
• Age 21 or older for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen, as permitted by law.
• Participation in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Compliance with state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required prior to employment.

Pay

$21.50 per hour.

Schedule

Daytime shifts: Monday 5:45 AM – 6:00 PM; Tuesday 5:45 AM – 6:00 PM.
